Laying instructions for wall coverings natural stone
You need the following tools to install wall coverings made of natural stone:
Trowel, folding rule, bucket, spirit level, silicone gun and a sponge.
As a laying material you also need:
Trass cement mortar and natural stone silicone. Both are available in every building materials trade from different suppliers.
Check the wall coverings for possible defects before installation.
- Assembly of the wall coverings
Mix the mortar with a little water; Do not use too much water so that the mortar does not get muddy consistency. Apply the mortar with the trowel at the previously measured height over the entire surface. Lay the wall cover on the mortar bed and align it in the middle of the wall.
Use the spirit level in the longitudinal and transverse direction to check that the wall cover is straight. Fill in and smooth the joints under the wall cover with a bit of mortar.
Clean the surface and edges of the wall cover with clear water and dry the surface well. Seal the possible transitions of the wall cover to other components with natural stone silicone. Clean the surface and edges of the sill with clean water and dry the surface well.
If you want to subsequently treat the wall coverings with a stain impregnation or a color enhancer, this should only be done 2-3 weeks after installation, because during this time the moisture from the mortar bed must first evaporate through the stone.
